Santali Script Ol Chiki


   Ol chiki(‌‌ ᱚᱞ ᱪᱤᱠᱤ) is a Santali language own script.Ol chiki script was written by Pandit Raghunath Murmu in 1925. Ol chiki is   30 letters and in 5 letters are using for her read and write pronunciation. Ol chiki is the official script for Santali people. The ol chiki script is written from  left to right. Santali people are lives in this indian State Odisha, Jharkhand, Assam, Bihar.

    History Of Script-

        Santali language Ol chiki was first published at Mayurbhanj State exhibition in 1939.That time Mayurbhanj district was ruled by Maharaja Pratap Chandra Bhanjadeo(1928-48).Then Maharaja asked the question "what is the problem you face in Odia or devanagari script ?"Then Pandit Raghunath Murmu gave the answer, we can't pronounce our own languages.so we are publishing our Ol Chiki script.

    Ol Chiki Punctuation Marks-

     Ol Chiki punctuation marks are similarly written in an english punctuation marks.Like that Comma (,) question mark (?) Exclamation mark (!) Double comma (“ ” ) single comma (') .

     

    (.) Full Stop is not used in the Ol Chiki script because (.) means mu tudag so not used in Ol Chiki script.

    This dot is used to extend three vowel letters in Santal pargana dailate in the Santali. Like that ᱚᱹ/ᱟᱹ  The phonetic difference between ᱚ and ᱚᱹ


    mu  tudah

    This dot is indicated nasalization of the preceding vowel ᱚᱸ/ᱟᱸ/ᱳᱸ transliteration uses "m̐" after the affected vowel.


    mu gahla tudah

    This double dot is used to mark a nasalization an extended vowel.It is a combination  of gahla tudah and mu tudah.Like that ᱚᱺ/ᱟᱺ/ᱮᱺ 

    rela

    This given mark is phenomenal of any oral,nasalization vowel sounds.It comes after “mu gahla tudah” . ᱮᱻ /

    ahad

    This mark indicates the delocalization of a consonant of the last position.

    parkha

    This hyphen like mark is indicates as  glottal protector.Like that ᱜᱚ with ᱜ-ᱚ
