Suleipat Dam is an eco-tourism place.Suleipat Dam is situated in the district of Mayurbhanj, Odisha.
Distance of Suleipat Dam from Rairangpur town is 14 kilometres [Km] and 87 kilometres [Km] in district headquarter Baripada. Suleipat Dam goes around Kusumi block and subdivisions Babonghati, Mayurbhanj.other name of the Suleipat Dam is known as the khodakhai Dam .
History of Suleipat Dam-
Suleipat Dam is created for the water supply and agricultural development in Rairangpur and Kusumi block. The Dam's main purpose was developing the agricultural process. Two blocks people are successful agriculture by Suleipat Dam canal water. Suleipat Dam has water supplies in her local areas and NAC water supply in Rairangpur town.

The Suleipat Dam has been constructed on two ends of hills. One is Bhitaramda Hill and another is Karanjharan Hill end points. The dam is looking very beautiful to touch our hearts. The Suleipat Dam is situated in the middle of the forest. It is a soundless, pollution less area. And everywhere you look around the dam,you can find the green leaves colour of the trees, Middle of the beautiful Suleipat Dam is situated.
Middle of the dam you can see the two island types land in the dam. We can enjoy a picnic spot in this dam area,one dam garden is placed in this dam. Many types of Migratory birds have arrived there in the winter.Brahmanpasi,kaduani,Pokharia,Raliabindha are the Suleipat Dam side villages.
Water Source-
The Suleipat Dam is finding water sources in forest fountains.The forest fountains started in Ghangidimuta Hills corridor. Then flows down and fountain mixing near Sanmanda . Then the fountain changes into a big river and flows down . The river goes into a few kilometres and finally reaches there. The river water constantly lived there. Finally the dam project had been constructed and now called as Suleipat Dam.
Livelihoods -
Most of the time,the nearest village people depend on this dam. They are catching fish and selling them on the Suleipat Market.
We can find many types of fish in this dam. Like that Shrimp, vakur,crabs, Labeo Rohita(Rohu),
Indian Carp(catla), Ilish Shad (Hilsa), Ailia Coila (kajuli),Pink Perch (Rani), Mystus Tengara (Tengra), Walking Catfish (Magur),Wallago Attu,River Eel (Vaam ),Barb, Needle fish,Guntea loach,Spotted snakehead,Giant River catfish all are the freshwater fishes. The Category goes to the Fauna species family.
